Today we went to the Massey park pools for our swimming lesson and we learnt about the importance about life jackets the point of it is to keep you above water to save you from drowning and to provide warmth to the chest if in cold water it will be most important to keep your chest warm because it is where your heart is. We also learn what to do if stuck in the middle of the ocean with life jackets. If you are planning to make a signal try and get everyone around you so it will be more noticeable and the life jackets are the color of the life jackets are yellow because it is a standing out color in the water.

Thank you for an informative post. Upon reflection, I now understand the aim of your group's activity on that day watching from poolside. How do you think people could learn about some of the water safety/survival basics you've learnt from your sessions at the pool?
